{"id":12356,"date":"2017-12-03T14:01:16","date_gmt":"2017-12-03T14:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ikachocolate.com\/?p=12356"},"modified":"2017-12-12T08:04:59","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T08:04:59","slug":"a-year-of-chocolate-celebrations-worldwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ikachocolate.com\/ja\/travel\/a-year-of-chocolate-celebrations-worldwide\/","title":{"rendered":"A Year of Chocolate Celebrations Worldwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>How about a trip around the world, to visit chocolate festivals?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It seems like there is no place on the globe where people don\u2019t love and celebrate chocolate.<\/p>\n<p>Even if you just feel like browsing festivals&#8217; photos online, we\u2019ve created a long list of chocolate events worldwide,<br \/>\nthat are worthy of entering your bucket list.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The obvious place to start a trip is Europe, but as we\u2019ll find later, the natural starting point is actually a small island in Venezuela.\u00a0We\u2019ll get there, too for a visit at the <em>Church of Cacao<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"clr\"><\/div><div class=\"content_hr\" style=\"margin-top:10px;margin-bottom:30px\"><\/div><div class=\"clr\"><\/div>\n\t\n<h3><strong>Travel from classic bonbons to bean-to-bar trade fairs in 2018!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h2><strong>Europe<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our first stop is:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Perugia, Italy<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>October 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurochocolate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurochoclate<\/a> is the largest chocolate festival in Europe, held since 1993.<\/p>\n<p>It attracts tens of thousands visitors each year, usually during October.<\/p>\n<p>Besides many free tasting opportunities, Eurochoclate is also famous for its chocolate sculptures.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Amsterdam, The Netherlands<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>24 &#8211; 25 February, 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chocoa.nl\/events\/chocoa-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chocoa<\/a> is 4 days of chocolate celebration, that puts an emphasis on the \u2018bean to bar\u2019 trend.<br \/>\nThis means that you can participate in many lectures about sustainable cacao growing, and single origin chocolate making.<\/p>\n<p>You can also expect a lot of the usual chocolate tasting, and trust the Dutch that beer tasting and drinking are also on the agenda.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Budapest, Hungary<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>16-18 September, 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/visitbudapest.travel\/budapest-events\/sweet-days-chocolate-and-candy-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sweet Days<\/a> festival celebrates chocolate, and candies in general. It\u2019s more of a family and fun event. You can enjoy street food bars, live concerts, and kid-friendly programs. It sounds a bit like a Christmas market, only in better weather.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Brussels, Belgium<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>2-4 March, 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Belgium is an important destination to chocolate lovers all year round.<\/p>\n<p>You can find over two thousand chocolate shops, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetechocolat.com\/en\/content\/6-brussels-chocolate-factory-visit-demonstration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">several<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brussels.info\/museum-cacao-chocolate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chocolate<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brusselsmuseums.be\/en\/museums\/belgian-chocolate-village\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">museums<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Salon du Chocolat<\/strong> is an international chocolate festival, that takes place in Brussels, as well as other major cities (we\u2019ll get there, too).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ikachocolate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/salon-du-chocolat-collage-s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"829\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ikachocolate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/salon-du-chocolat-collage-s.jpg 829w, https:\/\/ikachocolate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/salon-du-chocolat-collage-s-300x127.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ikachocolate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/salon-du-chocolat-collage-s-768x324.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ikachocolate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/salon-du-chocolat-collage-s-510x215.jpg 510w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 829px) 100vw, 829px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Over 150 world renowned chocolatiers and pastry chefs from over 15 countries exhibit their exquisite creations.<\/p>\n<p>You can spend a full day strolling around stalls, tastings, participating in workshops and lectures.<\/p>\n<p>Special works of art made \u200b\u200bof chocolate are created exclusively for the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>London, UK<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>October 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thechocolateshow.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London&#8217;s Chocolate Show<\/a> is a huge chocolate festival held in London every October.<\/p>\n<p>It is a major event for professionals &#8211; a great place to learn about the most innovative techniques and industry trends.<\/p>\n<p>The Show is part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thechocolateshow.co.uk\/concept\/#network\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salon du Chocolat<\/a> organisation, so in a way you have a choice:<\/p>\n<p>Go to London, Brussels, Paris, or many other places on the Salon\u2019s calendar;<br \/>\nit&#8217;s a traveling festival that passes through 15 cities around the world but its annual highlight is in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Paris!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>October 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Salon du Chocolat<\/strong>, Paris, France &#8211; has been taking place since 1994.<\/p>\n<p>Over 500 exhibitors present at this conference. <strong>it\u2019s nothing like the chocolate you buy at the shop.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another reason to go is to learn more about the people Seth Godin has named<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cthose who are creating the raw material for the magic we consume daily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorldwide, tons of cacao is grown, millions of bars are sold&#8230; But one number is astonishingly small: the amount the typical farmer makes in income. For many, it&#8217;s only $3 a day.
